Customs: Russia’s wheat exports fall 1.6% to 19 mln tns in Jan–Aug
MOSCOW, Oct 11 (PRIME) -- Russia’s wheat exports fell by 1.6% on the year to 19.3 million tonnes and grew by 19.7% to U.S. $5 billion in monetary terms in January–August, the Federal Customs Service said on Monday.
Exports of vegetable oil went down by 15.5% to 2.3 million tonnes worth $2.9 billion, a 49.8% rise.
Russia’s wheat imports grew by 28.1% to 102,300 tonnes worth $39.4 million in the period, while corn imports fell by 29.8% to 31,700 tonnes worth $99 million, and imports of vegetable oil rose by 39% to 1,000 tonnes worth $1.2 million.
